Don't Be a Worry Wart!

Stop fretting over the possibility of trouble. Don’t be a Worry Wart!

“I can’t help it!” You say. My point exactly! There is nothing you can do about some things. That’s why it’s important to exercise giving it over to God BEFORE it becomes a worry wart that attaches itself to you!

God commands us not to worry. Why? Because worry takes away from today and adds nothing to tomorrow. It’s a troublesome joy robber!

Matthew 6:34

"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

God holds our tomorrow in His hand. The amazing thing is that He is already there, already ahead of us, clearing the path. He is already aware of what obstacles are there and He is already making a way through them. He will give us what we need to navigate all of our tomorrows. All we have to do is to trust in Him and follow in His footsteps.

Truth is, He knows all of our needs even before we become aware of them! He knows everything - He is Omniscient.

Psalm 147:5-6

"Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;

His understanding is beyond measure."

What I read one time is still indelibly etched in my mind. It said “As the saints of old reminded me, I am reminding you - that God will somehow meet the needs of His people.”

“The Lord will make a way, somehow.” Have you ever heard that before? It’s a familiar quote that rings in my ears from many of the saints of faith in my life.

God’s Word backs it up in Phil. 4:19 “God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.”

Worry and anxiety are the fruit of little faith. Confident assurance and security is the fruit of faith that is anchored in God!

I believe God wants us to spend more time building relationships with Him and with one another instead of wasting our time worrying about tomorrow.

A prayer for the worried heart:

“Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never be ours so, Lord, help us to take one day at a time. Help us to enjoy today and trust You for tomorrow.”

One day at a time! Worry no more!
