Well, here we are at Day 7 - our final day of the Seven Habits of a Godly Life series. I hope you’ve enjoyed this study as much as I have putting it all together. There was a lot to absorb! I pray that going deeper in God’s Word together has fortified you.
Today we are going to talk about something that is not always easy, but it is always right...
FORGIVING OTHER PEOPLE
Ephesians 4:26-27 Ephesians 4:30-32
The Bible tells us in these passages that we should give no opportunity to the devil; that we should build one another up, not tear one another down. When we sin (and yes, unforgiveness is a sin), we are giving an opportunity to the devil.
Forgiveness is not easy to wrestle with. Let God’s Word marinate in your mind and tenderize your heart:
“Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. ... And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4, verses 26-27 & 30-32)
When you’ve been betrayed, it’s very difficult, yet we have to choose to be forgiving. Jesus was betrayed beyond any other. Betrayers are still out there, yet we have to be willing to forgive them no matter what happens.
‘Nuff said. Gods Word says it, I believe it, and that settles it!
Forgiveness is a necessity.
