Friends, winter was harsh but spring is coming!
You know the saying “How can it be wrong when it feels so right?”
Well, do you ever wonder “How can it be right when it feels so wrong??!”
Been thinking about that lately. Finding answers in God’s word.
There are so many things in life that just feel so wrong at the time but hindsight tells us that it was for our good - that God was growing us through the trials.
1 Peter 1:6-9 “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire —may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy...”
More important to God than to remove the difficulty, pain and suffering, is that we learn something from the trial and grow.
It is through our belief - our faith - that we realize its true worth. Our authentic faith is more valuable than gold and silver and all the rest.
So, can we learn to embrace joy, even when the going gets tough?
Our genuine faith produces genuine joy. Joy is a fruit of the spirit. Hmmm... is that why they call fruit “produce”?!
God is in the business of faith-strengthening - faith bolstering if you will. Faith is a nutrient in our lives that fertilizes our joy. Now, we all could use some of that! I’m ready for a growth spurt, are you?
Let’s water in a little faith on our parched soil and watch the joy begin to blossom and flourish!
