Prayer is Like a Seatbelt

Prayer is like a seatbelt.

Yep, I said it. Prayer is like a seatbelt. When someone prays for me, I feel protected, safe, and looked after. It’s like a safety net has been laid before me. I am secure in the covering of prayer.

What is prayer? It is speaking directly to the heart of God, and He promises that He hears us. What a joy that is!

You know I am a big fan of prayer because it is my lifeline to Jesus. As I prepared for my recent shoulder surgery, I was overwhelmed with people coming around to pray for me. I knew my seatbelt of prayer had been buckled, whether through a phone call, text, or social media message. I was safe. I was surrounded by Jesus.

The Bible says in James 5:16, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

I love how it says, “Pray for each other that you may be healed.” When we pray for each other, it allows us to access the healing power of Jesus. I don’t know about you, but I want in on that!

Today let’s “buckle up” with the seatbelt of prayer! If you have the opportunity to pray with a friend or family member, even better!

Check out some incredible verses on prayer!

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
