What have you allowed to define you? I heard it once said that your identity will be whatever you tie your heart to. Wow! What a powerful truth!
Out of our identity flows our actions and beliefs. When we “tie our heart to” Christ, we are able to relate to those around us with grace, truth, and love.
Proverbs 4:23 tells us to “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Guarding our heart can be as simple as asking the Lord to be our defender, instead of trying to fight through on our own. Or perhaps to invite Him into the tender spots in our hearts to bring healing instead of struggling through. When we allow Jesus to tend to our wounds and fears then we can proceed with strength into whatever our day holds for us.
May we “tie our heart” to Jesus today!
